Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District issued the following announcement on Nov. 19.
Jason Tullos, associate principal at Cypress Ranch High School, was named the principal at Hamilton Middle School on Nov. 20. Tullos replaces Kim Sempe, who will retire in December.
Tullos is in his 19th year in education, 14 of which have been in administration in CFISD. In 2007, he was named an assistant principal at Cook Middle School, serving in the role for five years before moving to Cypress Ranch. He served five years as an assistant principal before assuming his current role as associate principal in 2017.
In addition, Tullos participated in CFISD Administration Leadership Training and the district’s Aspiring Principal Institute.
Tullos earned his Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University.
“I feel humbled, grateful and excited to join the Hamilton family,” Tullos said. “The teachers, staff, students and community members have a long history of fun traditions and achievement, and I look forward to continuing that journey with them.”
