Aldine Independent School District issued the following announcement on June 10.
The Comcast Foundation recently announced the recipients of the Leaders and Achievers® Scholarship Program. Three of the recipients are from the Aldine Independent School District: Johanna Rangel Álvarez and Sabrina Prado from MacArthur High School and Zitlali Valdez from Victory Early College High School.
Comcast NBCUniversal awarded approximately $75,000 in scholarships for the 2020-2021 school year to 30 Texas students as part of its annual Leaders and Achievers® Scholarship Program. The award is a one-time, $2,500 scholarship to be used toward undergraduate education-related expenses. Since 2001, about $33 million has been awarded to nearly 30,000 high school seniors nationwide as part of the Leaders and Achievers program.
The scholarship recognizes high school seniors for their community service, academic performance, and leadership skills. The awards allow young people to continue their education to better compete in the workplace.
