The Texas Land Commission approved more than $11.1 million in Hurricane Harvey disaster recovery grants for Montgomery County to conduct drainage infrastructure improvements.
"Hurricane Harvey devastated communities across the Texas Coast," Bush said in a press release from the Texas General Land Office. "These recovery funds are critical to protecting lives, homes and businesses from future storms. We continue to work with our partners in communities across the region to leverage these resources efficiently and effectively to benefit Texans affected by Hurricane Harvey."
Montgomery County will remove 24 residential properties with the funds and install flood and drainage units, including regrading ditches, replacing storm sewer culverts and installing new storm sewer pipes.
Construction for the improvements will be taking place on Porter Lane, Jerry Lance, Bobby Lane, Deuster Lane, Alexander Lane, Louis Lane, Porter Heights, South Porter and Tamina Community Detention Pond.
