For the first time in eight years, Montgomery ISD faculty and staff will probably not get a salary boost for the upcoming school year.

Community Impact Newspaper reported trustees will make a final decision at a later date, but for now it looks as if the salaries will not be increased. So far, Montgomery ISD is facing a $2.8 million deficit for the 2020-21 year.

“This is the first time in eight years as your superintendent I’m bringing you a compensation plan that includes no raises for any employees,” Superintendent Beau Rees said,

Trustee Matt Fuller told Community Impact the school district’s pay structure ($51,000 maximum for 0-1 years experience to $60,443 maximum with 22 years of experience) is causing some teachers to relocate to other districts.
