Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District issued the following announcement on Feb 26.
The Cy-Fair High School boys’ basketball team advanced past the bi-district round of the Class 6A playoffs and moved to the area round, while Cypress Creek, Cypress Lakes, Cypress Park, Cypress Woods, Jersey Village and Langham Creek high schools concluded their seasons and finished as bi-district finalists.
Cy-Fair High School defeated Houston Lamar, 54-52. The Bobcats advance to face Fort Bend Travis at 7 p.m. on Feb. 28 at Spring Branch ISD’s Don Coleman Coliseum (1050 Dairy Ashford Road).
Tickets for both games will be sold at the gate for $5 for adults and students.
Cypress Creek was defeated by Houston Sam Houston, 63-52. The Cougars were District 17-6A’s third seed.
Jersey Village was defeated by Houston Bellaire, 54-50. The Falcons were District 17-6A’s fourth seed.
Cypress Lakes was defeated by Round Rock Westwood, 47-43. The Spartans were District 14-6A champions.
Cypress Woods was defeated by Leander, 37-32. The Wildcats were District 14-6A’s second seed.
Cypress Park was defeated by Pflugerville Hendrickson, 75-70, in overtime. The Tigers were District 14-6A’s third seed.
Langham Creek was defeated by Leander Vandegrift, 52-44. The Lobos were District 14-6A’s fourth seed.
