State Rep. Jim Murphy (R-Houston) spoke at the Texas Conservative Coalition Research Institute's Tax Competitiveness Summit, according to a social media post.
Murphy posted on Facebook that he was invited to take part in the Tax Competitiveness Summit at the Research Institute on Jan. 24, and shared photos of the event.
"Thanks to my friends at Texas Conservative Coalition Research Institute for inviting me to speak at their Tax Competitiveness Summit" Murphy wrote.
He was a part of the summit to talk about several things that affect business in Texas like emerging tech, taxes and regulations he said in his post. Six others joined him on the panel.
"I joined House and Senate colleagues along with members of the business community to talk about the business personal property tax, taxes on emerging technology, and how Texas can create the best economic and regulatory climate in the nation," Murphy wrote. "Great conversation and great ideas for the Legislature."
