Sam Houston State University receives high rankings for online degree programs

Sam Houston State University (SHSU) has received recognition from U.S. News & World Report for its online degree programs. The annual report evaluates top distance-education offerings at both undergraduate and graduate levels, with specific attention to programs serving veterans.

According to the latest rankings, SHSU’s online master’s program in criminal justice is tied for third place among best programs for veterans and fifth overall. The university also placed 14th in best master’s in education programs for veterans, 15th in best online master’s in computer information technology programs for veterans, and 30th overall in information technology. Other placements include 36th for online master’s in education, 55th for bachelor’s programs for veterans, and several other rankings across business and general bachelor’s categories.

The report also highlights the university’s commitment to providing high-quality and affordable online learning led by industry experts. “Online education at Sam Houston State University has opened exceptional higher learning led by industry experts to individuals across the nation. For SHSU’s continued demonstration of this commitment to high-quality, affordable online learning, U.S. News & World Report has once again awarded the university favorable rankings,” the release stated.

SHSU currently offers more than 60 fully online degree programs, including two doctoral degrees and 54 certificate options at various academic levels.
