Pete Sessions, U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 17th district since 2021, recently shared a series of posts on his official Twitter account addressing topics ranging from the legacy of Scouting America to legislative priorities and military academy nominations.

On February 8, 2026, Sessions highlighted his personal connection to the scouting movement, writing, “Today we celebrate National Scouting Day and the legacy of Scouting America. As an Eagle Scout, the son of an Eagle Scout, and a proud father of Eagle Scouts, I know firsthand the lifelong impact of Scouting’s values of character, leadership, and service. I am honored to serve”.

In a post dated February 10, 2026, Sessions called for changes to national voting requirements and legislation: “America NEEDS voter ID. America NEEDS to pass the SAVE AMERICA ACT!”

Later that same day, he underscored his role in supporting future military leaders by nominating Henry Kalbas to the U.S. Naval Academy. Sessions wrote: “One of the most important roles of being a Congressman is nominating the future leaders of America’s military. ICYMI, I nominated Henry Kalbas to the U.S. Naval Academy. Henry, congratulations. I am confident the future of our Navy is incredibly bright with you among its ranks.”

Sessions has been active in Texas politics for several years. He began serving as representative for Texas’ 17th congressional district after replacing Bill Flores in 2021 (source: Pete Sessions biography). Born in Waco in 1955 and still residing there at age 68, Sessions has maintained strong electoral support in recent cycles—winning against Mark Lorenzen in 2024 with over two-thirds of the vote; defeating Mary Jo Woods by a similar margin in 2022; and securing victory over Rick Kennedy in 2020 with nearly 56 percent (source: election results).
