Pete Sessions, a U.S. Congressman who has consistently won re-election since 2020, recently addressed issues of workforce training and public accountability in a series of social media posts.
On August 26, 2025, Sessions wrote about his participation in a roundtable event: “Yesterday, I joined Senator @JohnCornyn at @SFASU for a roundtable with SFA students, @SFASU_President, and leaders from @angelinacollege, @kilgorecollege, @PanolaCollege, @TylerJrCollege, and @WorkforceDETex. We discussed how Congress is working to strengthen workforce training https://t.co/u9K2ICnYll”. The meeting included representatives from several Texas colleges and focused on efforts by Congress to improve workforce development.
Later the same day, Sessions posted about the importance of integrity among public officials. In an August 26 tweet he stated: “The American people expect and deserve accountability from every public official. Fraud is unacceptable, and those entrusted with public responsibility must follow the law. I told @FoxBusiness that the @FinancialCmte will thoroughly review the allegations against Lisa Cook to https://t.co/SFogQQhHag”.
The following day on August 27, Sessions reiterated his position on legal process and accountability regarding recent allegations against Lisa Cook: “The American system is built on the rule of law, and no public official should ever engage in fraud. As I told @ABCNewsLive yesterday, the allegations against Lisa Cook must be resolved through the proper legal process. The American people deserve accountability. https://t.co/PkZ1rWyREm”.
Sessions’ continued focus on congressional oversight comes as he maintains strong electoral support in Texas’s congressional races. In 2024 he defeated Mark Lorenzen with more than 66% of the vote; similar results were seen in previous cycles when he prevailed over Mary Jo Woods in 2022 and Rick Kennedy in 2020.
