In a post made early in the day, Sessions reflected on the loss of Tom Hicks, stating: “Today, I join many Texans and Americans in mourning the passing of my friend of more than thirty years, Tom Hicks. Tom was a visionary businessman who honorably served our country as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army Reserves and as a Commissioner of the American Battle Monuments” (December 9, 2025).

In another post that afternoon, he commented on recent international economic developments: “I want to congratulate two strong pro-U.S. democracies, Costa Rica and Israel, on the signing of their new free trade agreement. Sessions has represented Texas in Congress for several terms and secured reelection victories in recent cycles. In 2024 he defeated Mark Lorenzen with over 66% of the vote; similar margins were seen against Mary Jo Woods in 2022 and Rick Kennedy in 2020.
