Non-resident students faced tuition costs 109.3% higher than those of in-state students in 2022-23, amounting to $18,752. This amount remained the same as the previous academic year.
Approximately 98% of the undergraduate student body at the university are Texas residents, while about 1% come from other states and another 1% are international students.
Data indicates that 84% of full-time undergraduates who began studies at Sam Houston State University in 2022-23 received some form of financial aid. Specifically, 2,103 students were awarded grants or scholarships totaling $20.9 million, and 1,660 students borrowed more than $9.7 million in student loans.
